Meet the Instructors

Peggy Swiderski- I swam competitively for Wilmington Aquatic Club

and attended the University of Delaware. Together with my daughters,

Alicia Caraballo and Lindsay Taggart, I own Swim School Inc. and

Wilmington Aquatic Club. I’ve been teaching swim lessons since 1967

and played a central role in developing the instructional methods we

use at Swim School.

My teaching style is confident and assertive, focused on helping

every swimmer succeed.

I’m certified in CPR/First Aid/Lifeguarding.

To register for Miss Peggy's lesson:

Alicia (Swiderski) Caraballo- I have over 25 years of experience teaching

swim lessons.  I’m also a proud mom to two daughters, Isabella (19) and

Natalia (17), who both began swimming at just six weeks old through our

program.  I competed for the Wilmington Aquatic Club and was

a member of the state champion Padua Academy swim team

during high school, where I received many individual Delaware

and Middle Atlantic swimming awards.  In 2008, we launched

Swim School Inc., followed by the founding of Wilmington Aquatic Club

in 2011, where assist in coaching.  I pride myself on being a tough-love

instructor-with the flexibility to tailor my approach based on each swimmer’s

individual needs. My goal is to help swimmers build both skill and

confidence in the water.

I’m certified in CPR/First Aid/Lifeguarding.

Lindsay (Swiderski) Taggart: I am co-founder of Swim School Inc. and

Wilmington Aquatic Club and have been teaching/coaching swimming

for over 11 years.  I swam for Wilmington Aquatic Club and was a

key member, alongside Alicia, of the state champion Padua

Academy swim team. Throughout my swimming career, I earned

numerous individual awards at the state and Middle Atlantic levels.

I received a swimming scholarship to the University of Pittsburgh,

where I earned both my Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Teaching.

I’m certified in CPR/First Aid/Lifeguarding.

****Miss Lindsay is currently coaching our swim team,

Wilmington Aquatic Club for the school year.

Ned Haubein- I bring a lifelong passion for swimming and years

of hands-on experience to every lesson. I competed for Wilmington Aquatic

Club and earned multiple swimming awards before attending North

Carolina State. After college, I returned to Wilmington Aquatic Club as both

a coach and instructor.

Following 25 years in retail sales, I’m thrilled to be back doing

what I love -  helping swimmers gain confidence in the water.

My teaching style leans gentle and patient, perfect for those who

thrive with a softer, slower-paced approach.

I'm CPR/First Aid/Lifeguard certified.

Ashley Hileman-  Although I’ve never been a competitive swimmer,

I grew up believing I was a mermaid. I've always loved the water

and the joy of swimming. My other passion is physical therapy,

which I practiced briefly before becoming a stay-at-home mom

to my two wonderful boys, Keller and Brooks. Both swim for

Westminster Swim Club’s summer league, and Keller also swims

competitively for the Wilmington Aquatic Club.  As I watched them

learn to swim through Swim School Inc.,  I realized I could blend my love for

children, swimming, and physical therapy into one meaningful role.
That’s when I joined
Swim School as a full-time instructor-and I've been part of

the team for nearly 6 years.  Over time, my teaching style has grown to

reflect who I am: compassionate and encouraging, with just the right

sprinkle of toughness.  After all, swimming is more than a sport—

it’s a life-saving skill!

I'm CPR/First Aid/Lifeguard certified.

Mindy Blohm- aka “Lolliop Lady”

I'm a proud mom to my daughter Stella (10) and son Trevor (12),

both of whom swam competitively for the Wilmington Aquatic Club.

Swimming has been part of my life since I was two and a half years old

thanks to Miss Peggy, who first taught me how to swim. I began

competing at age five and continued through high school at Padua Academy.

I coached Special Olympics swimming for 11 years, where I discovered the

power of trust and connection. I believe building relationships with swimmers

is essential.  When they know I care, they thrive. I communicate in a clear,

energetic, and positive way so each swimmer feels supported and knows

exactly what's happening in the water.  I love using playful encouragement,

with phrases like “rocket to the wall” and “big jump” to help swimmers feel

motivated and excited. I am not a stern instructor unless absolutely

necessary.

I'm CPR/First Aid/Lifeguard certified.

Isabella (Bella) Caraballo- This is my third year teaching with Swim

School Inc. I grew up learning to swim through

the program, and that experience sparked a lifelong passion for the

sport. I later joined the Wilmington Aquatic Club and continued to

grow as an athlete. I'm now a Division I swimmer at Cleveland State

University.  As an instructor, I adapt my teaching style to fit each child

ranging from a gentle, patient approach to firm but fair

when needed. My goal is to build trust with every swimmer, teach

essential water safety, and ultimately help them become confident,

independent swimmers.

I'm CPR/First Aid/Lifeguard certified.

Miss Bella is away at college for the school year.

Meg Holmes Connell- I discovered swimming at the age of

12 and went on to compete at the collegiate level for American University.

After stepping back from the sport to raise my three boys, now proud

members of the Wilmington Aquatic Club, I’ve returned to the pool in a new

and rewarding way.  Currently, I coach for Wilmington Aquatic Club and

teach at Swim School Inc., full time, where I bring an energetic and

empathetic approach to every lesson.

My teaching style blends positivity with just the right touch of

challenge, helping swimmers of all ages build confidence and find

joy in any water environment.

I'm CPR/First Aid/Lifeguard certified.

Victoria "Tori" Lawson-  I'm in my sixth year teaching at Swim School Inc.,

where my journey began as a young swimmer. I competed for Wilmington

Aquatic Club for over a decade, starting at age 7, and swam through high

school before shifting focus to teaching swim lessons and playing collegiate

softball.  Currently a senior at the University of Delaware, I’m pursuing a dual

degree in Elementary and Special Education with plans to continue toward

my master’s. Teaching has always been a passion whether in the

classroom or in the pool. I believe swimming is not only a sport, but a

vital life skill.

My teaching style ranges from gentle, step-by-step guidance

to firm encouragement when needed. I love creating meaningful

connections with my students and turning the pool into a place they’re

excited to return to each week.

I'm CPR/First Aid/Lifeguard certified.

Ellie Ray:  I’ve been swimming for most of my life, and it remains a

central part of who I am. I currently compete for Ursuline Academy,

where I've built lasting memories and continue to push myself to grow as

both an athlete and teammate. In addition to swimming, I also play tennis

and run cross country—sports that have taught me resilience, balance,

and a love for healthy competition.

As an instructor, I bring a passionate yet gentle approach to every lesson.

I believe that creating a supportive and encouraging environment is

key to helping swimmers gain confidence and enjoy learning. Whether it’s a

swimmer’s first time in the pool or they’re building on existing skills, I always

strive to meet them where they are and guide them forward with

patience and enthusiasm.

I'm CPR/First Aid/Lifeguard certified.

Miss Ellie is only available as a substitute for the school year.

Maddy Joiner: I’ve been teaching at Swim School for just under

a year and will be a senior at Conrad School of Science, where I play field

hockey, swim, and lacrosse. I plan to study pediatric nursing in college,

a path inspired by my passion for helping kids thrive.

As a newer instructor, I take a slower, more thoughtful approach to ensure

each swimmer feels comfortable and confident. That said, I’m always ready

to challenge your child when they’re ready to grow!

I'm CPR/First Aid/Lifeguard certified.

Tyler Shelton: I swam competitively for eight years with Wilmington

Aquatic Club, where I built a strong foundation in technique,

discipline, and teamwork. This is my first year teaching swimming lessons,

and it’s been an exciting transition from athlete to instructor.  I’m currently

a student at the Charter School of Wilmington, where

I’m also a multisport athlete playing both football and baseball.

This past summer, I had the amazing opportunity to coach the

Westminster Dolphins swim team alongside my Dad. Working with him

and the team gave me a new appreciation for how powerful

coaching can be in helping kids gain confidence and achieve their goals.

As an instructor, my teaching style falls somewhere in the middle

of the spectrum. I know when to take things slow and when it’s time to level

up. I love challenging swimmers, not just to learn new skills, but to better

themselves as athletes and individuals who can thrive and stay

safe in the water.

I'm CPR/First Aid/Lifeguard certified.

Stacy Sines-Smith: I've been part of the Swim School Inc. family

since 2011. As a former All-American and Hall of Fame swimmer at

Washington College, swimming has shaped much of who I am. These

days, I prefer to keep dry during workouts, but my greatest joy comes

from guiding young swimmers as they grow into confident, capable athletes.

I'm known for my gentle balance of sternness and genuine care,

bringing out the best in every child I teach through encouragement,

consistency, and trust.

 I am CPR/First Aid/Lifeguard certified.

****Miss Stacy is only available as a substitute

for the school year.

Mallorie Jeremiah- I’ve been immersed in the world of swimming for the

past 10 years, beginning with six years at Wilmington Aquatic Club and

now continuing at the Division I level with American University. My journey in

the pool has given me a deep appreciation for both the discipline and joy the

sport offers. For the past three years, I’ve been part of the

Swim School Inc. team, where I’ve had the privilege of helping young

swimmers build skills and confidence.  My teaching style blends gentle

encouragement with consistent guidance.  My ultimate goal is for every

swimmer to trust themselves in the water and develop the

independence they need to swim with confidence.

I am CPR/First Aid/Lifeguard certified.

****Miss Mallorie is away at college for the school year.

Grace Moore- I was a competitive swimmer with Wilmington Aquatic Club before discovering my passion for rowing during my time at St. Mark's high school.  Since then, I've continued that journey as a Division I rower at the University of Alabama, where I'm proud to represent my school and sport.  Though rowing is now my primary focus, swimming remains close to my heart- especially through teaching.  My style is fun, energetic, and upbeat.  I love bringing excitement to each lesson and watching students grow into confident swimmers as they develop their skill in the water.

I'm CPR/First Aid/Lifeguard certified.
